THE TURBO CENTER SECTION HAS BEEN MODIFIED AND THE TOP SET OF BEARINGS GET OILED DIRECTLY WHEN VERTICALLY MOUNTED. THE VERTICALLY MOUNTED TURBO REDUCES THE OVERALL LENGTH FROM THE TOP OF THE INTAKE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE RESONATOR WHICH REDUCES THRUPUT RESISTANCE RESULTING IN A MORE EFFICIENT SYSTEM. YOU NEED TO THINK OF “BOOST PRESSURE” AS A MEASUREMENT OF RESTRICTION. IT’S ALL ABOUT VOLUME, THE MORE EFFICIENT THE SYSTEM, THE GREATER VOLUME OF AIR YOU CAN MOVE THROUGH THE SYSTEM AT A LOWER “BOOST” PRESSURE.
THE GARRETT GEN II USES CERAMIC BEARINGS WHICH ARE LIGHTER WEIGHT AND ARE PERFECTLY ROUND WHICH REDUCES ROLLING RESISTANCE RESULTING IN A FASTER SPOOLING TURBO. THE COMPRESSOR HOUSING HAS A SHROUDED INLET WHICH HELPS INCREASE THE FLOW VELOCITY ACROSS THE COMPRESSOR WHEEL FOR BETTER EFFICIENCY.

BY INCORPORATING A LOW PRESSURE BY-PASS IN THE CHARGE BOX WE ARE ALLOWING THE MOTOR TO BREATH LIKE A NATURALLY ASPIRATED MOTOR ON THE BOTTOM END. WHEN THE PRESSURE IN THE CHARGE BOX EQUALS ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE THE BY-PASS CLOSES AND THE TURBO IS NOW SPOOLED. THE MORE AVAILABLE AIR ALLOWS YOU TO ADD MORE FUEL, THE ADDED FUEL EQUALS MORE POWER AND THE FASTER YOU CAN LOAD THE MOTOR THE FASTER YOU CAN SPOOL THE TURBO. THIS PROCESS IS COMPOUNDING AND IS EXTREMELY FAST. THIS TECHNOLOGY ISN’T NEW BUT FOR SOME REASON WAS NEVER USED. SKIDOO AND POLARIS ARE NOW USING THE SAME LOW PRESSURE “TURBO BY-PASS” REAFFIRMING THE VALIDITY OF SOLIDS DIRECTION. PIGGYBACK FUEL CONTROLLERS ARE PROBLEMATIC. THE FACTORY ECU CONTAINS HUNDREDS OF COMBINATIONS OF MAPS AND THE FUEL CONTROLLER CAN ONLY ADD OR SUBTRACT FUEL FROM WHATEVER MAP THE ECU IS CURRENTLY ON CREATING INCONSISTANT FUELING. NOW THAT WE ARE IN THE ECU, WE HAVE ACCESS TO EVERYTHING; FUELING, TIMING, BARO MAPS AND THE POWER VALVES. SINCE THE SLED IS NOW BOOSTED IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET THE POWER VALVES OPEN SOONER TO LIMIT RESTRICTIONS AND ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO FLOW MORE EFFICIENTLY. THE CURRENT TUNE WE ARE RUNNING HAS BEEN REFINED OVER 500 TIMES AND IS ALREADY BETTER THAN ANYTHING ON THE MARKET.

THE DOWNLOADER IS INCLUDED WITH THE KIT. WE CHOSE THE IBEXX G.O.A.T DOWNLOADER FOR SEVERAL REASONS; MAINLY FOR THE EASE OF FLASHING TUNES AS THEY GET REFINED. NO MORE TWISTING IN THE WIND, RUNNING OLD TUNES OR TAKING YOUR SLED TO THE DEALER TO GET THE “LATEST” FLASH. THE G.O.A.T TUNER RECEIVES AND TRASMITS DATA VIA WIFI SO NO LAPTOPS ARE REQUIRED. THE DOWNLOADER HAS THE ABILITY OF STORING MULTIPLE TUNES SO THEY CAN NOW BE FLASHED IN THE FIELD. WHEN IT COMES TO TUNING, THE SOLID/IBEXX TEAM IS SHOOTING FOR PERFECTION SO YOU ARE REALLY NEVER DONE TUNING. IT IS LIKE HAVING 3 VARIABLES IN AN EQUATION THAT EQUAL MAX HORSEPOWER/TRACK SPEED. YOU CAN’T CHANGE ONE VARIABLE WITHOUT AFFECTING THE OTHER TWO. VOLUME EQUALS POWER – THE MORE CHARGED VOLUME ON DEMAND THE MORE POWER ON DEMAND. THE HUGE CHARGE BOX IS 3.1 TIMES THE DISPLACEMENT OF THE MOTOR AND IS CONSTRUCTED USING A PULTRUDED .120 WALL 6″ 6061-T6 (SEAMLESS) TUBE ALLOWING FOR MAXIMUM VOLUME. THE THINNER WALLED PRESSURE VESSEL REDUCES WEIGHT AND ALLOWS FOR BETTER HEAT DISIPATION.
*LOW PRESSURE BY-PASS
BY INCORPORATING A LOW PRESSURE BY-PASS IN THE CHARGE BOX WE ARE ALLOWING THE MOTOR TO BREATH LIKE A NATURALLY ASPIRATED MOTOR ON THE BOTTOM END. WHEN THE PRESSURE IN THE CHARGE BOX EQUALS ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE THE BY-PASS CLOSES AND THE TURBO IS NOW SPOOLED. THE MORE AVAILABLE AIR ALLOWS YOU TO ADD MORE FUEL, THE ADDED FUEL EQUALS MORE POWER AND THE FASTER YOU CAN LOAD THE MOTOR THE FASTER YOU CAN SPOOL THE TURBO. THIS PROCESS IS COMPOUNDING AND IS EXTREMELY FAST. THIS TECHNOLOGY ISN’T NEW BUT FOR SOME REASON WAS NEVER USED. SKIDOO AND POLARIS ARE NOW USING THE SAME LOW PRESSURE “TURBO BY-PASS” REAFFIRMING THE VALIDITY OF SOLIDS DIRECTION. THE LARGE CHARGE BOX ALSO WORKS LIKE A BIG SHOCK ABSORBER WHEN CHOPPING THE THROTTLE BY REDUCING THE PRESSURE SURGE THAT CAN MAKE ITS WAY BACK TO THE TURBO.
* ECU TUNING
PIGGYBACK FUEL CONTROLLERS ARE PROBLEMATIC. THE FACTORY ECU CONTAINS HUNDREDS OF COMBINATIONS OF MAPS AND THE FUEL CONTROLLER CAN ONLY ADD OR SUBTRACT FUEL FROM WHATEVER MAP THE ECU IS CURRENTLY ON CREATING INCONSISTANT FUELING. NOW THAT WE ARE IN THE ECU, WE HAVE ACCESS TO EVERYTHING; FUELING, TIMING, BARO MAPS AND THE POWER VALVES. SINCE THE SLED IS NOW BOOSTED IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET THE POWER VALVES OPEN SOONER TO LIMIT RESTRICTIONS AND ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO FLOW MORE EFFICIENTLY. THE CURRENT TUNE WE ARE RUNNING HAS BEEN REFINED OVER 500 TIMES AND IS ALREADY BETTER THAN ANYTHING ON THE MARKET.
* IBEXX G.O.A.T DOWNLOADER/DATA RECORDER
THE DOWNLOADER IS INCLUDED WITH THE KIT. WE CHOSE THE IBEXX G.O.A.T DOWNLOADER FOR SEVERAL REASONS; MAINLY FOR THE EASE OF FLASHING TUNES AS THEY GET REFINED. NO MORE TWISTING IN THE WIND, RUNNING OLD TUNES OR TAKING YOUR SLED TO THE DEALER TO GET THE “LATEST” FLASH. THE G.O.A.T TUNER RECEIVES AND TRASMITS DATA VIA WIFI SO NO LAPTOPS ARE REQUIRED. THE DOWNLOADER HAS THE ABILITY OF STORING MULTIPLE TUNES SO THEY CAN NOW BE FLASHED IN THE FIELD. WHEN IT COMES TO TUNING, THE SOLID/IBEXX TEAM IS SHOOTING FOR PERFECTION SO YOU ARE REALLY NEVER DONE TUNING. WHEN REFINED TUNES BECOME AVAILABLE, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED THAT A NEW TUNE IS READY TO BE FLASHED. THE DOWNLOADER ALSO HAS THE ABILITY TO RECORD EVERYTHING THE ECM IS MONITORING. THE RECORDED DATA CAN THEN BE UPLOADED VIA WIFI TO OUR SERVER, THE TECH TEAM CAN THEN ANALYZE THE DATA AND PROVIDE YOU WITH AN UPDATED TUNE. THE TUNE CAN BE LINKED TO THE SERIAL NUMBER ON YOUR DOWNLOADER FOR SLED SPECIFIC TUNE.

THIS OUT OF THE BOX THINKING ON CLUTCHING HAS TAKEN THE LEGEND TURBO TO A NEW LEVEL. IBEXX: “IT IS ALL ABOUT GEOMETRY”. WHERE OTHERS ADD WEIGHT, IBEXX USES GEOMETRY. OUR CLUTCHING CAN DELIVER MORE FORCE AT THE RIGHT TIME BY MODIFYING THE PROFILE THAN OTHERS CAN WITH A 12 GRAM HEAVIER WEIGHT. LIGHTER WEIGHTS EQUAL LESS INERTIA IN THE PRIMARY CLUTCH FOR FASTER SPOOLING AND BACKSHIFTING. WHEN YOU MATE THE PROFILE OF THE SECONDARY HELIX WITH THE PROFILE OF THE PRIMARY WEIGHTS YOU HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER HOW THE MOTOR GETS LOADED. IF YOU LOAD THE MOTOR TO FAST IT HAS TO PULL THROUGH THE LOAD AND IF YOU DON’T LOAD IT ENOUGH YOU SACRIFICE HORSEPOWER. THE CLUTCHING WAS DESIGNED AROUND THE SWEET SPOT IN THE POWERBAND TO MAXIMIZE TRACK SPEED AND HORSEPOWER. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DO. IT IS LIKE HAVING 3 VARIABLES IN AN EQUATION THAT EQUAL MAX HORSEPOWER/TRACK SPEED. YOU CAN’T CHANGE ONE VARIABLE WITHOUT AFFECTING THE OTHER TWO. IBEXX CUT OVER 30 DIFFERENT PRIMARY PROFILES AND OVER 26 DIFFERENT SECONDARY HELIX PROFILES BEFORE THEY CREATED THE PERFECT UNION AND REACHED MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY.
*CUSTOM SILICONE
THE SILICONE USED IN THE KIT IS 4 PLY POLYESTER REINFORCED AND IS FLOURINE LINED. THE SILICONE IS FUEL RATED AND IS THERMALLY RATED UP TO 450 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.
*EXHAUST FLANGES & SPRINGS
THE Y-PIPE TO PIPE EXHAUST SPRINGS WERE ENGINEERED AROUND THE ARCTIC CAT. THE EXHAUST SPRINGS ARE RATED AT 65 LBS AND ARE HEAT TOLERANT. THE LARGER THE COILS AND THE MORE COILS YOU HAVE THE MORE HEAT TOLERANT THE SPRING. THE OPPOSED HOOKS BALANCE THE LOAD ON THE SPRING AND HELP PREVENT BREAKAGE. OTHER TURBO KIT MANUFACTURES DOUBLE SPRING THIS UNION OR FIND THE CLOSEST SPRING THAT WILL “WORK”. OUR SPRINGS ARE DESIGNED SO YOU DON’T RUIN OR OVERSTRETCH THE SPRING WHEN INSTALLING. THE PIPE TO TURBO UNION UTILIZES AN EXHAUST FLANGE AND 90 LB DIE SPRINGS TO KEEP THE PIPE FROM FLOATING OFF OF THE TURBO UNDER HIGH BOOST. ONE OF 2 THINGS HAPPEN WHEN USING TRADITIONAL SPRINGS; EITHER THE STINGER TABS BEND OR THE STINGER TAB WELDS FAIL.

The turbo kit is priced at $6,500.00 USD and is currently available under our Beta Release Program. The Beta release program was designed to expose any weaknesses in the kit and provide real world data to aid in tuning before going to full production. If any hardware changes during the Beta release program we will ship you updated components at our expense. You will be part of an R&D team and will be invited to our WhatsApp/FaceBook group where we collectively discuss any areas for improvement. The current group consists of high performance individuals with many years of experience in boosted sled performance.
